Hopewell Summer Camps impact the lives of many youth each year. It is our goal to remove distractions from the campers and saturate them with love & the Word of God through Christ centered chapels, group activities, and camper/staff relationships.

For many years, Hopewell Summer Camps have been held at Tel Hai Camp in Honey Brook, PA. Tel Hai is a beautiful setting nestled in the middle of Lancaster County farmland and surrounded by several Amish farms. It is a peaceful oasis in a very frenetic world. The staff of the campground are an integral part of our camp and we would not be able to do what we do without them. The facilities at Tel Hai include:

    ► 60 acres of woodland

► 7 acre lake for boating & fishing

    ► Dining & recreation halls

    ► Gymnasium & swimming pool

    ► Miniature golf course

    ► Horseback Riding

    ► Open playing field

► Climbing wall and hiking trails

► Cabins with bunks & bathrooms

    ► Challenge Course

We now hold camp three times in the summer. Our Senior High Camp (formerly our Teen Camp) is held in late June for kids going into grades 9 to 12. Our Kids Camp (formerly our Junior Camp) is held in mid August and is for kids going into grades 3 to 5. And now our latest addition, the new Junior High Camp is held in mid to late July and is for kids going into grades 6 to 8. The three camps are based on the same theme that changes each year. Last year’s theme was Chabod and we introduced the campers to the weight of God’s glory.

Michael "Guerty" Guertin returns to camp again this year as pastoral director. He is an itinerant minister during the rest of the year, conducting services for all age groups, both separately & combined in "whole family services". He has served in a leadership capacity and/or ministered at camps in nine different states since 1984 and has served the Hopewell Network at Tel Hai since 1991. Michael intertwines object lessons & visual aids along with drama to convey the word of God to both staff & campers.

Our Pastoral Director

Each camp we are blessed with an indispensable group of men and women who volunteer to come and serve our campers as counselors. Each counselor has a group of kids from 4 to 6 in number. They stay with the kids, eat their meals with them, play and worship with them and are the point of contact between the camp and the campers. It is without a doubt true that camp cannot and will not be camp without these people.

Guerty is assisted by a number of brothers in the Lord who have been his dear friends & co-workers with the young for many years. A number of them were former campers & counselors. They assist him & help oversee the areas of camp operations & worship. These include Devin Blankenbiller, Gary Buck, Ray Bohner,  Nate Norman and Todd Bube. Devin & Nate are full-time youth pastors; Gary is a full-time worship pastor, Ray has extensive experience in ministry to children for many years and Todd is a full-time childrens’ pastor. In addition to these men, we have a camp "gopher" every year, who handles the various & numerous details that encompass camp ministry.
